Step into the heart of Helsinki’s design scene with Showrooms Habitare, an exciting event inviting you to explore the city’s most captivating showrooms from September 10th to 14th, 2025.
Open to everyone, this event offers a unique opportunity for companies to showcase their latest products and services to both industry professionals and the general public within their downtown exhibition spaces. Beyond the open doors, many showrooms will also host engaging evening programs, promising a lively and inspiring experience.

Kaija Aarikka, then a textile arts student at the Institute of Industrial Arts in Helsinki, was unable to find buttons to go with a woollen garment she had designed. So she made them herself. From these fun and original buttons the story quickly went on to include jewellery. And February 24, 1954 went down as the day that Aarikka was born.
