Artek presents Zebra
Artek shines a light on Zebra, the iconic jacquard textile that has been in the collection since 1935, with the launch of a new brown and white colourway.
The textile is showcased at a time when animal prints are prominent in fashion and interiors, having made a recent resurgence on the runways and in collections of major fashion brands. Zebra has, however, been a consistent presence in the Artek design palette for almost a century. Discovered by Aino Aalto during her travels through Europe in the 1930s, it appeared upholstered on Aalto furniture when Artek opened its first store in Helsinki in 1936. It has remained present ever since.
