The design philosophy of Hakola is rooted in a deep understanding of the target audience. Furniture is created to enhance everyday life and provide a foundation for joyful living. The story began in 2014, when Creative Director Annaleena Hakola recognized the need for a new kind of Finnish furniture brand.

“At the time, the market was dominated by serious and colourless options that didn’t reflect my personal taste for cheerful and vibrant interiors. I wanted to build a brand whose products I would personally buy—pieces that would be accessible to as many people as possible, without compromising on quality. Because the company sells directly to consumers, it’s possible to keep prices relatively attainable despite the commitment to high-quality design and Finnish craftsmanship.”
