Founded in 1885, Sandudd is Finland's oldest wallpaper brand and one of the world's oldest wallpaper brands still in production. Designed and made at our own factory in Akaa Finland, our collections combine timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design. Over the decades, Sandudd has collaborated with renowned Finnish designers including Maija Isola, Ilmari and Annikki Tapiovaara, Timo Sarpaneva and Tove Jansson. Every wallpaper tells a story
At this year’s Habitare, our stand brings together Finnish wallpaper heritage and fresh design ideas. In the early 1900s, Sandudd organised Finland’s first wallpaper design competition. Today, that tradition continues through the Sandudd x Young Finnish Design Wallpaper Design Competition, with the winning design being unveiled to the public for the first time at Habitare. The competition connects over 140 years of wallpaper craftsmanship with the vision of a new generation of designers.
Our stand also showcases historic Sandudd patterns in brand-new colourways created especially for Habitare. In addition, we are presenting Aarre, a historic Moomin wallpaper originally produced in 1954 and reintroduced to our collection in 2026.
Alongside our wallpapers, our collection includes interior rugs, d-c-fix decorative films, acoustic panels, and Finnish natural grass rugs made in Reisjärvi. Together, they offer versatile solutions for creating interiors that reflect your own personal style.
