The Viita-aho tug factoy was founded by Arto and Aila Viita-aho in 1973, on the shores of Lake Lappajärvi in the village of Karvala. From the very beginning, the factory produced traditional rag rugs, and later expanded its range to include tufted and wool rugs, as well as cotton, sisal and linen.

Today, VM Carpet is Finland’s largest carpet manufacturer – proudly Finnish, creating rugs that bring authentic life to the home. Modern production combined with more than half a century of experience has created a unique way of making rugs. People make rugs for people.

Although we have grown into a large company, every rug is still made to order, tailored to the right shape and dimensions to fit its space and, above all, to delight the person who uses it.
