THE MOST INTERESTING STAND: Hemmo Honkonen (6n4)

– The stand is very simple. Simplicity is typical for Finnish design culture. I was impressed by the products, especially the chair and stool from the Audible furniture collection. I like the simplicity and quality.

THE MOST INTERESTING PRODUCT: Tapio Anttila Stadion chair (6h50)

– The Stadion chair is very simple. What I like about it is the bit of humour in it. Humour and having fun with the designs is rare in Finnish design.

THE MOST INTERESTING MATERIAL: March Design Studio tablecloth (6m81)

– This tablecloth collection brings something new to the table rituals.

THE MOST INTERESTING CONCEPT: Riot Innovations, Eese extension cord (6n58)

– It has a humble typology which I like. It is good to see something other than chairs and kettles as design products. This is an attempt to create a new typology.

THE MOST INTERESTING PHENOMENON: Rehome Toilet (6n10)

– This is a typology that hasn’t been taken into consideration in design. This is more of a concept rather than a product. The idea that it can be assembled and put in another context seems interesting.

”NEXT”: Next Aaltos / Young Finnish Design (6m8)

– It’s difficult to predict what will come next. Next Aaltos raise some interesting questions. It’s a good question to ask: Who will be the next Aalto? Do we even need a new Aalto?
